  1. Hi guys, I realise that this is not a technical support line, but just wondered if anyone might know the solution to this problem, please? Not been able to play for a couple of days and can't seem to find an answer to this elsewhere. Many thanks, Rob
  2. Absolutely - if an actual pilot wants a helo, it should be theirs - I just get in and take the controls... Remove a helo?!! What about adding an attack chopper with some real teeth..? (that being said, I did see someone take out the Mi28 with a Pawnee last night - twice, so need to give that a go...)
  3. Hi Pach, well I wasn't sure about that, when it was said - which is why I asked. Good to know - thank you. Hi Cain, I'm not sure I agree with all of that - yes, certainly I don't think pilots should be considered chauffeurs by everyone (esp as they want their fun too), but with the map the size it is, I have noticed many people (I mentioned snipers, as that was the specific case yesterday) stranded and alone. No matter why, it is no fun for people facing a 20 min slog back to base, so I just thought if co-pilot seat is ok (which Pach says it is), then people should be encouraged to use small helos to do these sort of pick ups
  4. Hi everyone, With the huge amount of ground to be covered in the new map, along with availability of the Pawnee and jet, is it time for us to look at additional pilot slots - esp. when the server is set for 50 players? The inclusion of the jet instantly reduces troop transport to 2, or even 1 helo, if a pilot decides to jump into the Pawnee at the same time. On another note, I heard someone say today that flying in the co-pilot seat (when not playing as a pilot) = server ban. Is this correct and if so, maybe this is something that could be reviewed, either as an alternative to the above, or in addition to it, as long as only smaller helos are used by non pilots. There is a lot of waiting around for many players - esp snipers, when they become stranded and allowing someone to whiz around and pick up stragglers would probably avoid heavier helos from being taken out in such pick ups (possibly losing many men at the same time). Just a thought. Rob (in-game)
  5. In a tenuous link... I found myself ejected mid air from my heli twice, whilst piloting the other night. I'm still a newb pilot, so wonder if this has happened to anyone else, or if it was something that I did - I immediately quit after the 2nd time and went onto single player to practise and have not experienced this since... Anyone..?
  6. Hahaha epic Paint skills - brilliant. I think that is a good idea for a specific server, say EU2, as an option for some variety and to get the mini sub into action
  7. Lol - still missing the point. In essence the question was simply "where have the sniper rifles gone?" We know that we spawn with a sniper rifle, but wanted to know where the others, that we previously had access to, had gone. Like I said, Rarek seems to have covered it, so the question can be closed
  8. Thanks Jester, but think you have missed the point - sniper weapons, that have been available to snipers, are no longer available to snipers, that's all. Not sure where the rest of your thoughts come from, but I just wanted to know why, when I am a sniper, I cannot access the sniper weapons that I used to be able to. Rarek's answer seems to have covered all points.
  9. Got it - thanks Rarek. Someone did try to explain in game, but too much copter noise for me to hear.
  10. Just seems a shame not to allow snipers to choose their own weapons, given that it is such a limited role and there are relatively few real sniper options
  11. Hi all, Really sorry if this has already been covered, but today left me very confused regarding sniper weapons. When they first came out I saved both sniper rifles into my kit load out. The .50 cal has disappeared (I may have swapped rifles and saved, I'm not sure) and now I just get a message telling me that the .408 is a restricted item and will not load - even when I am playing as a sniper?!! Someone else seemed to have the .408, so I am assuming that I am doing something wrong..? Is this correct? I completely understand restricting certain weapons to certain classes, but it seems snipers rifles have been restricted full stop - rendering the class pretty pointless. On top of this, as no sniper rifles appear in the ammo boxes at all - if someone that has not played as a sniper before wants to play as a sniper, they will have to get someone to donate a rifle to them, presuming that anyone can actually access those rifles.
  12. Ahoy Chon! I never heard of PR until last week!!! Saw it in relation to ArmA and it referred to BF2!!
