Hello fellow Ahoyworlders! Welcome to 2016! We hope everyone had a good, enjoyable festive season. This post is just going to somewhat be a start of year update of what is going on internally and externally here at AhoyWorld and what you can expect over the coming weeks.

    New moderators!

It’s with great pleasure that I announce six new moderators to the EU#3. Young Wolf, Ryko, Miksi, Gamerhero, Origins and Icy. I hope you can all join me in welcoming them to the team.
We’re always continuing to look for new moderators and admins to join our ranks.

How do you join the team? We don’t work on an application system. The way we work is that one of the team will suggest you in our private forums. Then everyone on the team who has experience with said member will input how they feel this member would do. At the end of the process the Admin Liaison takes all the input and makes the final overall decision.

    EU#3 and the mods!

So with Gauntlet no longer being supported we move onto its successor, Valiant.
Valiant is in the depths of testing at the moment and is not to far away from being publicly released to EU#3. We also moved EU#3 to a new, separate box all just for EU#3. Taking the pressure off flagship which already runs EU#1 and 2, Teamspeak, Squad and a few others.

Moving onto the mods and the repo. We’re looking into plans to thin down some of the repo. Mainly looking to remove mods which we can use some of the current larger mods instead of. But more details of this will come in the coming weeks.

For new and current users we’re working on a whole EU#3 section on the website. This means you’ll no longer have to browse the forums for the guide, rules, and such like. However all discussion about the server will continue in the forums. We believe this will allow newer users a more friendly approach and easy to locate information.

We also just introduced the new Report forms system. They can be found here.
These forms are to be used to report trouble makers, bugs and issues, and give any feedback/ideas that you have. We’d really like to see these been used regularly and moving away from everyone starting threads in the forums about these type of things.

The Moderator team came together over the weekend to discuss a list of matters with EU#3. Just to report some of things on the plate:
Planned re-structure of the “Experienced @EU#3” tag. Also the addition of an XML for it.
Updated the pinned threads in the EU#3 Forums (WIP)
    EU#3 video trailer competition.
Other matters which will come to light in the near future.

The EU#3 video trailer competition will be announced at the end of this week/start of next. For those whom want to start collecting video footage.

    AhoyWorld Summer Meet up!

For those of you who haven’t yet seen AhoyWorld is hosting a Summer meetup this year July 15th-18th In the North of Holland. If this is something you’d be interested in please check the post here. I recommend you be quick as places are limited.

    Donators!

As most of you know last year saw the end to the Ahoy+ scheme in which donations were done through a set fee, recurring payment. In its place we now have Ahoy Donators. This program allows for you to donate any amount you wish and you can choose if you’d like it to be recurring or just a one off payment.

We’re always on the lookout for new donators to help keep us up and running. If this is something that you feel like looking into click here!

    Final notes

2015 was an amazing year for everyone here at Ahoyworld and we strongly hope to continue that into 2016. We thank everyone for the support over the last few years and for the support in the future.

If you have any questions about the above post please feel free to reply below.

    Thank you all, Ahoyworld Staff.

If there was put a rifleman with M3 MAAWS slot in Alpha, Bravo and Charlie, the HAT team could finally confine itself on using weapons, that have a range of engagement justifying movement as a seperate team and usage of a long range radio - like the Javelin and the FIM-92 stinger. What was the AAT team there for, then again, I can't remember.

    That's how it goes:
    1. Get on EU#3 as HAT SL, see two other players in the team joining, making a complete HAT team. You will enable them to move seperately, do the LR and map work never get to fire a launcher yourself, okay. Get your channel 4, put it on the side channel map with its frequency and quickly load a HMMV for them with Javelin. While you're loading the HMMV, you're off the LR, as you use the backpacks to load the vehicle. During that time, the radio channels get redistributed a few times, which you do not realize, as nobody updates the map markings. Be sure that once you got your LR back on, there will be several different teams chatting on channel 4, each one stating to have been there first. It's bright daylight, so get a day loadout.
1.1. Knowing that most people rather use the MAAWS, you decide to ask your teammates an innocent question: "What launchers are we going to use? Javelin or MAAWS". You'll get the reply: "that's for you to decide." Okay.. decision..
    2. Ride the HMMV with the Javelin to the staging area and ask your teammates to get in, after you've found them somewhere around the Arsenal, while trying to get a dedicated SR channel.
    3. Hear complaints about why a preloaded Javelin HMMV was not good, because your teammates haven't used it, can't handle it, don't like it, would have to communicate with you, when using it.. rather move in with the team.. and btw. why do you not have a LR on your back?
    4. Go back to the Arsenal, "quickly" work over the loadout of the HMMV, add some M3 MAAWS ammo and.. yeah, why not a few Stingers and some highly sophisticated mags for three different marksman rifles of the HAT members. After that, the amount of space left in the HMMV for your Javelin ammo is the same as in a Carryall backpack.
4.1. A CMD element may appear. When it sees you carrying Javelin, you're being told to carry the much more appreciated M3 MAAWS. When it sees you carrying M3 MAAWS, you're being told that HAT used Javelin and no MAAWS. Either way, you'll figure that out. Talking sometimes helps, sometimes it's just better to not listen to others.
    5. At this point A SL or CMD will ask you to move in with the team, rendering LR radio, HMMV, Javelin.. the whole HAT team to be pointless. However, as a HAT SL you're not carrying a launcher right? You're moving in with the team.. and yeah, listen to the Air LR as well, because we don't have a guy in the JTAC role.
    6. Wait at the staging area with the loaded HMMV and the missile spec assistant, because the missile spec rather goes in with Alpha using Vortex. Well yeah, as you do not have a lot of possibilities to sanction erratic behaviour of others - you can ignore them, after all. Or does the HAT member moving in with Alpha really expect being told about targets by you on the SR, which you will get from A SL on the LR? Well..
    7. When everyone is ready to go, missile spec and missile spec assistant will have disconnected, you will be airlifted as a HAT SL in your loaded HMMV, to the same LZ as Alpha, Bravo or Charlie. During that time, ambient will have been changed to night and you don't have a NVG. If you don't get shot or wrecked while that happens, and you didn't fall asleep in the HMMV, yet, you'll find that your teammates have optimized away the M3 MAAWS launchers from the HMMV's inventory, to carry more ammo, so that you have a lot of ammo, will move with the team, that you use the LR to talk to, even though it's only meters away. And no flares. And the radio frequencies have been changed again.
    8. You're being asked by A SL to take out that T-80, that you have told them about 1km ago, that's now right in front of you, with your Javelin, over LR radio.
    9. Once you have gained a position a short distance use of the Javelin isn't a straight suicide from, you'll see an Alpha member trying to take out the T-80 using an AT4, because he couldn't wait and.. because he has it. It fails and you then have a NVG to scavenge. Still you have proven to be uncapable of using the Javelin, you have proven the Javelin is of a disadvantage and that the MAAWS is better to completely disintegrate the teamwork, separation of duties.. and the mission.
    10. Because there is no infantry and no pilots left for EVAC you disconnect.

As long as the teamwork with regard to moving in separate teams and coordinating combined efforts using LR is hard to attain, I'll probably better refrain from participating in discussions about which was the better tool because I like it more than others. I love the M3 MAAWS, I love the Javelin, each for its own use.

The decision to use the M3 MAAWS in light infantery groups is a good idea. However, to put it like that on EU#3 would be straightforward from my perspective on the one hand, on the other hand it would make the task of getting a separate AT team into battle even more difficult to attain, no matter which launcher they used. As that is already hard anyway, why not?

Changing HAT 1 to MAT and HAT 2 to HAT would be a decision I would endorse, as that would both be regarding the MAAWS's standing within the platoon, that it has gained through reliability and versatility in some cases of use, and that wouldn't make things harder, that I find hard and depressing to experience with regard to its use in the team.

Over this whole thing my opinion is as follows:

Abolish MAT, HAT, AAT, MMG etc.

Replace them with something like a logistics squad/ FSG (Fire Support Group)

Why? Because this way we can class them all under one say 6-8 man team. With much more of a multi-role and a range of allowed weapons.

    From M249's -> Javelins -> Mortars -> Stingers -> Maaws.

    That's what i'd do anyway.

In the upcoming version of gauntlet we are removing some things from the aresenal. The things in question are thermal scopes and OPFOR clothing items. So if you have a class with these items you may wish to change the contents of your loadout so that you can still load them from arsenal.

The changes are highlighted in orange. These rules are effective immediately.

If you would like to see the properly formatted list please check the links at the bottom. The forums wouldn't allow me to format it correctly. Sorry for the big blocks
Do not teamkill. This one shouldn’t even be here… ANY type of on purpose teamkilling will not be accepted. IE: Revenge killing, executions, dicking around. Wrongfully using medical supplies IE. Injecting someone with any sort of drug without a medical need is not permitted.
Do not dare/antagonize someone to teamkill, and/or create a situation where teamkilling is very likely to happen. (capturing an enemy vehicle and failing to properly notifying your team)
Listen to the Chain of Command.
Do not type over side chat, global or command.(Unless in an emergency *This does not include questions*). On game nights, if you do this too often, this may result in a kick. X User on side: “Sorry for breaking rule 4. But where is the arsenal box” Is not an emergency. Please use group chat.
Do not discharge any of your weapons in base on purpose! This includes launchers with their back blast.
Pilots should not get into jets/helicopters unless told to by Command elements. With the priority being set to transport. This also includes Angel (Which is not a transport helicopter). With no more than 1 pilot for every 8 ground troops.
Do not use 2 seater aircraft when alone. This means no flying CAS Helicopters solo.
CAS  pilots(Helicopter/Jet) and Tank Crews should be on standby in a safe orbit over/around the AO unless instructed otherwise by command element(Not Squad Leaders). CAS standby and not fire unless told to by command. Tank crews and Air crews  are not permitted to go free for all on AOs.
Firing 20mm or 30mm cannon can cause server lag issues, so please use them with discretion.
If you select a role, please play that role. *Please check the useful links section at the bottom for a list of what each role should be using.* By this we mean: We do not want to see a medic with a DMR and/or AT Launcher.  We also expect you to play as the faction you are. BLUFOR faction gear with BLUFOR and OPFOR with OPFOR. OPFOR does not use AR type weaponry (m4 based weapons) and they do not use MTP/Multicam, DPM or any other NATO used camouflaged clothing. This rule also covers the amount of  gear you carry. Anymore than 20 mags is NOT acceptable as you will run out of stamina fairly quickly and endanger the team when you are stationary in a open field.
The first medic on a scene decides how to treat a patient. Do not run up to a patient and start doing medical stuff without asking the on scene medic first or your squad medic for help first.
Radios are not for chit-chat. Please keep radio chatter to a minimum. If you have to talk do it LOCALLY.
The motor pool and spawn area is not for helicopters or jets. Do not land them there. Use the helicopter staging areas. When no helipad is available, land outside base in a safe area. On Panthera and Fallujah please use the taxi-ways and power down once landed to cause as little noise disruption as possible. Landing next to the arsenal box is not acceptable in any circumstance.
It is not acceptable to arrest (handcuff) anyone for any reason. If you wish to AFK disconnect or return to base. Respawn if you have to. Cuffs will not be used to drag you around.
Please do not nag moderators/admins or command if you can use CAS. This will only annoy them. Ask once and only once. This also includes the spawning of vehicles. We will not spawn vehicles on demand.
English only over Radio Comms please. We are an European based community however we ask that users speak English when around others. You’re more than welcome to talk your own language in a private channel or direct chat when not around others.
You must be on teamspeak (ts.ahoyworld.co.uk) to play on EU#3.

ranarick reacted to Karate Pyjamas in My Other Hobby: K'NEX Models
It's a hobby I try to hide from people in real life for quite a while, the reactions are always a bit mixed, but mostly positive.

I've been actively building with K'NEX since 2007 when I met my best friend online. He has been building for ages with K'NEX and posted video's online of them. I got into contact with him and we've been best friends ever since.

We build K'NEX models of Roller-Coasters and fairground attractions. We also run a hobby group in the Netherlands (and Belgium) and are both core staff on the international K'NEX forum. Last year we were also contacted by a toy distributor in the Netherlands who had obtained the rights to sell K'NEX in mainland Europe. We've been doing some models and fairs for them where we display our models and promote the brand. My mate is actually go to start an intern ship after the summer at that company. Oh, and before you ask, yes we are sponsored since we were approached by that company. However, we have so much K'NEX at home that more free pieces don't really make a difference in our collection It's hardly a dent.

Showing our models to the public isn't something new to us, we've been showing our models at fairs and museums since 2009. We've invested a lot in our stand and everything around it, banners, cards etc. We also found the potential of running our models via an Arduino or a similar electronic circuit. Interactivity with models is great to the public, being able to start the models yourself keeps children and adults hooked for hours! (Plus, when the model is not running it saves us a lot of maintenance )

Enough of the talk, let's show you some videos!

The first model we displayed under our group "Dutch Details" (the origins of which lay at the international forum where people ran fictitious coaster building companies, we wanted to provide a safe haven for Dutch speaking members), was Looping Star. Modeled after classic Schwarzkopf Roller-Coaster in the Netherlands (the themepark is 'Slagharen').

Also the first time we had an Arduino installed and flashy lights at the top

The year after I built XenoX which is a roller-coaster that travels on European fairgrounds:

This model was more advanced as it allowed for multiple trains to run at the same time.

My mate then saw the potential of the Arduino and started developing his own platform, which he implemented in this BEAST of a model, which was displayed at a toy museum:

But when more orders came in and large roller-coasters weren't always possible to place at fairs we had to develop some flatrides too. Like a record breaking ferriswheel standing over 4.60m or 15ft tall!

(That's my mate who is 1.95m tall posing in front of it)
You can find more on it here:
    http://www.dutchdetails.net/portfolio/great-wheel-of-holland/

The museum we've been at before then invited us for a second time, this time to build an entire themepark spreading over 120 m2!

I'd suggest you stroll through our portfolio to see ALL of the individual rides we've built over the years. Also, the newer roller-coasters feature some on-rides videos! So be sure to check those out!

Cheers for watching and reading! (Subs on our YT channel are welcome too )

ranarick reacted to Stuffedsheep in (EU#3) Making the switch from AiA terrain pack to CUP Terrain pack
As the title suggests, we are going to switch to a new Terrain pack. CUP terrain pack is the successor of the AiA TP, and features a variety of imported updates such as:

    - Modular setup, data pack and individual maps
    - Correct sea levels
    - Ponds
    - better shadows
    - Trees and bushes should no longer be see through for AI
    - Better terrain textures on ArmA 1 maps
    - More enter-able buildings in the Chernarus area (not on this release)

    And more

The reason I make this post is because there is no "lite" version of the mod. This means the compressed download which includes all the maps AiA TP has, is 7.5GB big. Now we won't use all the maps, but the uncompressed files on the repository will be more that the compressed download, due to the data pack alone being 6.5GB.

My recommendation is to download the mod separately, so you will have all the maps(just in case). And you can start now, instead of waiting for the repository update. (For Those with slow internet)

EDIT: The switch has been made, the server is now running CUP Terrains and the repository has all the needed files.

ranarick reacted to Cain in 70 Years - Hiroshima & Nagasaki
Disclaimer - I will not be including any graphic images of the injuries caused by the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, nor any close-ups of the large amounts of dead that were photographed in the city immediately after the bombing. However, I urge you to look at some of these yourselves along with my descriptions, in order to fully understand the level of horror, pain and suffering which the inhabitants of both Hiroshima and Nagasaki suffered.

Note - I will mostly be talking about Hiroshima in this post, as it is the anniversary of that bombing today, and also because if I were to include the same amount of information about Nagasaki, this post would be much longer than it is now. However, understand that I am not belittling the Nagasaki bombings, they deserve as much attention as the Hiroshima bombings, as these are the only two cities in the world to have nuclear weapons dropped on them.

    The Bombing

On this day, 70 years ago, at 8.15 in the morning, the first atomic weapon dropped in anger detonated 600 meters above the city of Hiroshima, a large military and industrial hub with a population of 350,000, located on the coast of the Seto Inland Sea, in southern Japan.

The weapon, nicknamed 'Little Boy', exploded with a force roughly equal to 15 kilotons of TNT, missed its intended target, the Aioi Bridge, by 250m and detonated directly overhead the Shima Surgical Clinic.

Immediately, a massive blast-wave completely destroyed everything within a 1.6 kilometer radius of the hypocenter, barring heavily-reinforced and earthquake-resistant concrete buildings, of which only their shells remained standing, such as the famous 'A-Bomb Dome', what was previously the Prefectural Industry Promotion Building, which has been conserved and remains standing today in the Peace Park.

Severe blast damage radiated from the hypocenter, ranging from very serious damage and collapses of almost all buildings within a 2-3 kilometer radius, to light damage as far as 5 kilometers away.

A massive, blinding fireball 370 meters in diameter, reaching temperatures in excess of 6000 degrees celcius, caused fires to break out everywhere, resulting in a massive firestorm twenty minutes after the initial blast. Roughly 3 kilometers in diameter, it was fueled by the damaged and collapsed buildings due to the blast, completely razing them to the ground. People became trapped in their predominantly wooden houses, screaming for help to no avail as they burned alive. The fires only started to die down after reaching the edge of the blast-zone, where there was less fuel.

Upon detonation, a huge amount of neutron and gamma radiation was emitted, resulting in a lethal radiation dose within a 1.3 kilometer radius, roughly half of the firestorm-affected area. This radiation reached dozens of kilometers, causing many people that were relatively unharmed by the blast or fires to suffer acute radiation syndrome in the period after the bombing, some causing life-long health complications and increased chances of cancer.

Many would succumb to injuries from the blast and fires; with water being in such low supply due to mains being burst and rivers being either inaccessible or contaminated, the last word on many of the dying's lips were 'Water', their thirst arising from the heat which had enveloped the city.

In total, the blast resulted in ~80,000 direct deaths, approximately 70% of the city's buildings destroyed, with another approximate ~80,000 deaths by the end of the year due to injuries or acute radiation syndrome.

    Why the news post?

Now you may be asking yourselves, why are you telling me this Cain? I already know about Hiroshima and Nagasaki, maybe not all the details as you've laid out, but the general impression of the event.

The answer is, because it's the 70th anniversary of the bomb being dropped on Hiroshima, with Nagasaki's being on the 9th of August.
Also, because last month I visited Japan on holiday, and went to the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, visiting the memorials, museums and everything else dedicated to the bomb and the victims of it. I feel quite strongly about this, and as such I wanted to share it on this forum.

My trip to Hiroshima & Nagasaki

Personally, I had always been on the fence about the usage of the atomic bombs to 'end' the war in the Pacific. I'm an avid historian, and whilst I thought I understood that the dropping of the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a horrible act, I believed it was necessary to finally bring about the closure of the Second World War; as it was likely that many more lives of both sides would have been lost in the brutal and bloody Pacific fighting, especially if the USA were to attempt a mainland invasion of Japan to finally force a surrender.

And this was the impression and viewpoint I had when I visited Hiroshima and Nagasaki. When I left both cities, I had completely changed my view. As to why that's the case, allow me to expand a little on my trip.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki, both quite nice cities, of course have a lot dedicated to memorials and museums of the atomic bombs dropped. In fact you could say that if you are visiting either of the two cities to do some tourism, you are likely going to spend most of your time learning about the atomic bombs, and visiting memorials to the victims. All of these are very well done, in particular the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and the Peace Park in which it is situated in (which contains several dozen monuments and memorials, as well as the famous A-Bomb dome I linked a picture of earlier); and also Nagasaki's equivalent Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum and Nagasaki Peace Park.

I visited Hiroshima first, and the first order of business was the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. I was astounded by how well done the museum is. First, there were some short summaries of Hiroshima's history, and what it was like before the bomb and even before the war itself. The exhibition then moved onto the dropping of the bomb, its immediate effects, then its long-term affects, then onto how the bomb actually worked and the various forms of damage, finally ending on survivors' stories, and images/messages left by various high-level dignitaries that have visited the Museum and Park. (There is another large wing of the museum, but it was currently closed for the first stage of a two-part renovation in which they are re-doing and upgrading the entire museum and exhibits, due to be completely finished in 2018 I believe. If you are thinking of visiting, make sure you check to see if the Museum is open!)

As to the exhibits themselves, its very hard to not get emotional. The museum has dozens of items which were from the blast; pieces of clothing, personal effects, etc, all from a wide variety of people who ultimately perished either on the day or soon afterwards. Bits of twisted glasses-frames, half-charred school-uniforms, battered and broken lunch-boxes, disfigured and damaged toys, the list goes on. The items all have descriptions of who they belonged to (if identified) as well as a short description of who they were, what they did, and how they ultimately perished.

The walls are lined of images of the injuries caused by the blast; horrific burns causing skin to literally be hanging off someone's flesh; lines and patterns of clothing burnt into the bare skin of people; large keloids (large bumpy and inflamed scars), again, the list goes on.

Included in the exhibition was the chunk of stone steps (image above) from the front of the Sumitomo bank, in which an ordinary, unidentified person had been sitting on whilst waiting for the bank to open at the time of the bombing, his/her shadow burnt into the stone by the fireball when the bomb detonated, leaving nothing else behind. Even despite the low-lighting in the museum and the fact that the shadow has somewhat faded, it is still clearly visible, and staring at such a stark reminder in your face is a very hard thing to tolerate.

The last section, hearing recordings of survivors giving interviews and reading their descriptions of the minutes, hours, and days immediately after the bombing were completely gut-wrenching. They leave out no details of the level of human suffering and despair which was experienced by the people of Hiroshima; the scenes of hell-like horror of fires, rubble, screams and bodies; and the stories of human strength in which people aided others. I would highly recommend you looking into some of the stories of survivors, some of the examples of human kindness and strength are absolutely astounding, given the situation they were in.

All this, I will willingly admit, left me teary, emotional, and struggling to handle with what I was being presented with. When I walked out of the museum, I had to sit down on a bench in the 25 degree heat in the middle of the park and just comprehend everything for a while. It was strikingly similar to the feeling I had when I visited the Auschwitz camps last year.

    Remembrance

All this being said, I am not here to spark debate on whether the bombings were truly 'right' or 'justified', nor am I here to particularly attempt to educate you in what happened, however if you did learn some things and want to learn more, then I am grateful for that.

I will say that personally, my opinion of the bombings and nuclear weapons has been affirmed; I do not wish the level of human suffering in which the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki suffered upon anyone else in this world, and as long as nuclear weapons remain stockpiled by the thousands in the hands of many, there is a chance that it could happen again. As such, and this is probably the most preachy part, I would ask that you re-think about your stance on nuclear weapons. Do some research, have a deeper look at the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, and maybe come to the same realization that I have.

This is about what I experienced.

However, ultimately, I am asking for you to give remembrance to the victims of the bombings of both Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Remembrance for the pain, suffering, despair and everything else in which those people suffered, something that was not experienced anywhere else.
Remembrance of this act humanity committed upon itself.
Remembrance and understanding of the hope that this is something that should never be experienced by anyone in the world, and it is an utter tragedy that several hundred thousand people were killed, untold amount more injured and affected, had to go through this level of suffering.

I urge you to take part in your own little minute of silence or anything of the sort both today, and on the 9th, for the two respective bombings.

    Thank you.

P.S For those that actually got through the whole thing, I congratulate and thank you. Hope you're not too depressed.

P.P.S I would highly, highly recommend that you visit both Hiroshima and Nagasaki at some point in your lives. What I've said and described here may be depressing enough, but I honestly think it is something everyone should do. Reading this post is one thing, but standing in the middle of the Peace Park, looking at the A-Bomb dome, and being only a few hundred meters away from the hypocenter of the blast; it is definitely a worthwhile experience. Especially considering how large and nice the cities have grown to become today. It's somewhat like a phoenix rising out of its ashes. Definitely a worthwhile experience.

ranarick got a reaction from DakimDragco in Discussion about Thermals, pilots and other stuff.
pilots : Whitelist based on a small training required to see if said person can make a flight plan that is logic and can fly reasonably (as in doesnt have to be perfect but just to make sure the person knows how to decend, land and get out as safe as their skills allow them to) and to know what are clear distances for holding patern etc. this is what i would like to see but takes a lot of planning to get to the point (see it like getting a license to fly with trainings like once a week or such).
though on a more realistic way at the moment would be the three strikes system but back it up with training sessions maybe so those players can improve their skills under guidance of people who fly better/more to see their mistakes and correct them.

Thermal : just a short remove them

Tanks : yes it would need to communicate with command and take orders/ask permission to move into target. If this permission is denied maybe get the tank to patrol the rear guard of the ground forces making sure that lz and the rear of forces are clear of enemy threat.

Well thats my thought on it
