Don't knock it til you've tried it! I think the controller looks really ergonomic. The Steam OS will be available to download, you don't need to buy a steam box and can install it on your PC if you want. I plan on dual booting it alongside Windows

Here's my other half's new CAD rig: It was a really easy build to put together, 10/10 for Corsair's entry level Carbide 200R case. Thanks to Kyrie for the tip to go for AMD, it kept the rig within budget and Caitlin's happy maxing out the 8 cores rendering. Even though the graphics card is for CAD, most games run maxed out too with reasonable FPS! I had a go with an Oculus Rift today and I was really impressed. It's definitely the way forward for gaming and I can see myself buying the consumer version as soon as it comes out. One of the best things about it is the sense of depth. It makes gaming on a screen seem very... flat. When gaming on a screen you wouldn't think twice about skipping the stairs and jumping over a rail, but now you can feel the height you think twice! I spent 1 minute just looking over a balcony thinking, 'woah, I'm really high up!' It's really imerssive even with a controller for movement and controls, pressing forward on controller still felt normal to me, I didn't feel the need to move about and reach out for things which I wasn't expecting. It would be ideal for racing games. I think it would complete the racing sim experience when accompanied with a good wheel and pedals. You could look at your mirrors too which would usually be off screen without having to press a key! My only gripe would be the resolution, 720p is really pixely close up! But they are addressing that in the consumer version!

My local gliding club is fairly cheap. A trial lesson is £46 which gets you around 15-20 minutes in the air. If you want to take it up as a hobby (able to fly solo) you've got to do some training and an exam. Fergie is the man to talk to here when it comes to gliding.

I did enjoy myself but I was happy to be back on two feet after the flight. This video has made me want to give gliding another chance.

I do love the original. The first game was like Marmite, some people liked it, others hate it. The people who didn't like it thought it was too linear and restricted, EA have said this one will be open world! I just wish they'd shown more parkour in the trailer. The combat was okay in the first game but the 1st person parkour was what made it so special. I also hope their R and D team have spoken to some traceurs before this one, Faith's climb-ups were a little slow I am exited and will definitely be buying on the release day but I'm hoping so bad they don't do a 'Sim City' to a game in my top 5.

How mania TrackMania fans have we got here at Ahoy World? I'm hooked on this game at the moment, it's been a while since I've played a game where I'm on the edge of my seat buzzing on adrenaline with a big grin on my face. I'll be playing this on Saturday if anyone wants to join me. You can pick up a copy of TrackMania 2 Stadium for £7.99 on Steam.

If it's anything like Take On Helicopters, the first in the series they'll be time trials, challenges and multiplayer scenarios. I wonder if there will be enough content in this game, otherwise it's just going to end up in the bargain bucket on Steam.

The only thing I dislike is the large biomes. Large biomes suck.
