We are going to host a community meeting to discuss the direction that ahoyworld is moving and recent changes that have been made. We have also made a new template that all community meetings will follow from th is point on. This is thanks to the community feedback that we have had in the past and we feel it should offer a more structured meeting experience. 3. Staff list & hierarchy

A list of all staff and the general hierarchy structure of staff can be found here:

    Stafflist.PNG

If you have any questions about this list or about how the AhoyWorld hierarchy works feel free to ask your question to any member of the moderation teams or admin teams via forum private message or teamspeak.

  4. Ahoyworld SQF developer

This is the topic where you can find more information on how to become an SQF developer.

Please read the entire post if you want to apply.

    What does a developer do?

AhoyWorld is always looking for SQF developers.  As a developer you'll help out with all the missions we host and additionally also help members who want to host a game night that require some scripting out.

If you become a developer you'll be added to the appropriate staff channels (currently a hidden Discord channel) and the ahoyworld gitlab.  This way we can communicate more easily.

What are the requirements to become an SQF developer?

    Absolute requirements:

    • Must not be banned within the last 6 months

    • Must not be warned or kicked within the last 3 months

    • Must be active on the TeamSpeak server

    • Must have a basic understanding of coding

    What we prefer:

    • Forum member for at least 3 months prior to application with an active, positive and constructive posting history

    • Enthusiastic players who are interested in advancing the community for the general enjoyment of all

    • A willingness to learn (more) SQF

    How can I apply?

You can apply by sending a private message to anyone who's currently both an admin (or higher) and a member of the dev team.  If you're not sure who to contact, hop on TeamSpeak and ask any admin, he will direct you to the right place.

  5. Repository info

All the mods we allow on our servers can be downloaded from our repository (or repo for short).

We also have a collection on steam that can be found here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1778947844

    Allowed mods and info

This are the mods (with direct download links) that are currently allowed on our I&A servers:

    Misc mods:

    - CBA 3, A requirement for almost all our mods

    - shacktac UI, includes STHUD, Group Indicators,  Player Name, Map Brightness, ...

    - outlaw magrepack, This magazine repacking mod lets you repack your non-full magazines

-DUI - Squad Radar A compass showing all nearby units in your squad. Additionally you can show your bearing in number format above this compass. Has support for occlusion, different ranges, colors, icons and so on!

Discord Rich Presence A way to show your support for AW through your discord game activity bar. (will be added to the steam collection soon:tm:, for now the name is a link.)

    Sound/visual mods:

All of these alter vanilla sounds and/or visuals in some way

    DynaSound 2

    - JSRS SOUNDMOD

    Blastcore Phoenix 2

    - Enhanced Soundscape

We highly recommend that you only have one of these active when playing arma.  Some of them overwrite the same vanilla sounds/visuals.  Having 2 or 3 running at the same time might lead to unexpected behaviour.  Enhanced soundscape should technically be compatible with the other 3 sound/visual mods but we don't guarantee it'll work as intended by the mod creators.

  6. AhoyWorld public moderator applications

This is the topic where you can apply to become a moderator on our public servers.

Please read the entire post before filling out the application form.

What does a public moderator do?

Public moderators support our community by weeding out troublemakers and rules-breakers on our public ArmA servers, the TeamSpeak server and our forum.

On ArmA servers a moderator may warn, kick and/or ban someone in violation of the rules. If a ban is applied, a moderator must fill out a brief ban report. A tool which makes use of the RCON system is used to apply bans.

A moderator also deals with player reports filed by players when there are no moderators present to deal with situations. After taking any necessary actions, the moderator informs the reporter of any actions taken.

What are the requirements to become a public moderator?

    Absolute requirements:

    • Must not be banned within the last 12 months

    • Must provide at least 2 references from current public moderators or core staff members. Please ask the moderators whether you can put them down as a reference for your application

    • Must be active on the public servers and on the TeamSpeak server

    What we prefer:

    • Forum member for at least six months prior to application with an active, positive and constructive posting history

    • Personality is pragmatic, trustworthy, reliable, considerate and respectful

    • Enthusiastic players who are interested in advancing the community for the general enjoyment of all

    Probationary Period

If your application gets accepted, you will be under a 3 month probationary period, where you actions are closely watched by moderators, to ensure you are using your priveleges in line with the moderator guidelines.

    Apply Here

  7. Invade & Annex

If you see any player breaking these rules, please report them to staff, or use the player report form.

4.1.   Do not intentionally kill another player on your side.  If you accidently teamkill someone, apologize immediately.
    Notes:

4.1.1.Teamkilling as a result of using thermal optics or lack of a tag is not an excuse. 4.1.2.Repeated and/or intentional teamkilling will result in a ban.

4.2.    Play the mission as intended.

4.2.1.Exploiting bugs, glitches, loopholes, exploits, … for personal gain will not be tolerated.  If you find an example of this,  please report it to a member of staff so it can be fixed.

4.3.2.In case of poor ability, a pilot may be asked to leave the slot.

4.3.3.We recommend and highly appreciate that our pilots are on TeamSpeak (the IP can be found on the map).

4.3.4.Pilots are in command of their aircraft, not the passenger nor co-pilot. Don’t confuse this to mean that co-pilots cannot take control.

4.3.5.Pilots are required to land in designated areas in base.

4.3.6.AFK pilots will be removed from their slots faster than someone would from a normal slot for being AFK.

4.3.7.Pilots should keep an eye on their gunners.  Respond to a member of staff as soon as possible when he asks you who your gunners are.

    4.4.    Play your role.
    Notes:

4.4.1.If you are operating a support asset like a mortar or a CAS plane/helicopter you are not allowed to kill the entire AO.  Support assets are there to support the infantry this means that infantry have to call these support assets in.

    4.5.    Do not waste assets.
    Notes:

4.5.1.Don’t be quick to destroy a damaged allied vehicle. If it’s damaged, try to repair it.  When you have done anything that can reasonably expected of you to get it operational again, just leave it.  It will eventually despawn and re-spawn at base.

    4.6.    Respect game immersion.
    Notes:

4.6.2.Do not talk in global, side and command channels.  Use group, vehicle and direct chat for voice communications.

4.6.3.Playing music in global, side, command and group channels is forbidden.  You may play music in direct and vehicle channels, unless another player asks you not to.

4.8.2.Excessive lobby idling is not permitted, nor is camping out a certain slot.

    We reserve the following rights:
